About Dera Beeram Shah

Baba Beeram Shah’s shrine is a momentous spiritual place in Rajouri. There is a beautiful ancient take related to how this shrine was established. It is said that sometime in the 17th century, many saints from Punjab were sent by Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji to the foothills of Jammu to spread messages of Sikhism. Baba Beeram Shah Ji Dutt was one of the saints, who had his Dera at Jhangar. Thus, his spiritual shrine was laid at this place.

History

During the 17th century when Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji sent his followers to spread the message of Sikkhism, they reached enormous ranges and foothills of Peer-Panchal. Thus, Baba Beeram Shah Ji Dutt’s Dera is located on a mountain. This place also has a resting place to give rest to travelers here. A road is being created to connect the main road to Dera Baba Beeram Shah Ji. It attracts a lot of locals and tourists.
