Chani Prat temple is positioned at a distance of 10 kilometers from Sunderbani, in a village called Chani Prat in Rajauri district of Jammu region. It is a two storied temple building.
Chani Prat temple was built during the reign of Maharaja Gulab Singh, due to the efforts of a sadhu who used to visit this place casually as a part of his routine wandering. Sadhu liked this place and wanted to meditate here only. So he spent some time in this place and an idea of constructing a temple came into his mind. Construction of this temple followed the same pattern as the double storey Varanasi temple; actually the sadhu had brought the map of the temple along with him. There is no temple in the entire region the design and structure of which matches this temple. It has idols of lord Rama, Devi Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman. There are small paintings that can be seen on the walls, depicting various events from the great mythological stories of Ramayana and Mahabharata.
A grandyagya is organized on 6th and 7th of June every year. Devotees can participate in that yagya and take blessings from the divine.
