Akal Darshini Lake lies at an altitude of 3300 m above sea level and sprawls over an area of 200 m by 400 m.

Akal Darshini Lake was initially an integral part of Poonch District and was a popular picnic spot for locals and tourists alike. Over a period of time, its scenic terrains have been designated to Rajoruri district, which is distinguished by vast expanses of lush forests, water bodies and other natural bounties.
